Treasurer report
Report is available in the Resources Section. Field trips are not on the report yet, but everything is going well. TA stands for teacher appreciation. We did pay for admission for first grade admission to zoo. $893 came in from box tops. $106.22 came in from Meijer Rewards. Teacher report Mrs. Fox - Thank you to PTO for the lounge!!! Third grade went on their field trip today. There are a lot of field trips happening this time of year, as well as a lot of testing in the classrooms. Nurses week is also happening too. Thursday, May 28th is Health/fitness day. Principal report Academics report. Family picnic and volunteers will be June 1. Fourth grade clap out is June 2. Will do hot dogs and buy the volunteers a small plant and recognize them. Hopefully will take place outside, weather permitting. The clap out will be in the afternoon. We have 45 fourth graders, and PTO will be giving Tshirts. Tshirts will be $7 each. We will be sending home forms to ensure correct sizing. There was also cake and a drink last year. Maybe cookies would be a better option. Mandy will handle the cookies. Assessing has been continuing. Third grade starts the Mstep next week. Results should come from Mstep in 3 weeks. Old Business: Labels for Education helped to pay for the lounge and appreciation week. We spent around $1000. We are continuing with Terracycle and ink cartridges from recycle week. The trees went home that week as well, thanks to Cooley for working through the drama! Next year we may go another route. New Business We are paying for all the field trips, including busing, lunches, and admissions. We need to arrange a budget for field trips in the future. Would like to see a new form that asks more basic questions, making things more simple like when the field trip will be, how much it will cost, where they want to go. It seemed like everyone has been really appreciative of the PTO for providing these things for the classes. Most of the classes this year, we spent around $400 per room. We want to send out an end of the year statement so that parents and everyone can see how much money is spent on field trips. Can we make a little box for PTO info on the newsletter? Box Tops - Amber - No bonus box tops this year, which is usually a big help for us. The highest earner right now is Bender who is at 86%. We earned $1854 in December and $893 in April. We are not that far off from where we have been in the past at this point in the year. We will do what we can to get each classroom to their goal, we talked about giving pizza parties to everyone. Now we are thinking we should just stick to those that reach their goal will get the pizza party. Labels goals are sitting pretty similar to box tops. Should we make it something other than just pizza? It feels like pizza is such a common prize. So maybe freeze pops to everyone and pizza and ice cream to those that reach their goals. The goal is around 115 box tops per child. Maybe we should send it out to parents, too, how much each child’s goal is. We also talked about the competition for box tops at Ferris too. Jon is on board for this idea too. Since we started with box tops, Riverview has brought in over $20,500. Approximately 8 year. Summer Movie Night - We were hoping to do this in July. We also need to check when our movie license expires. We have an opportunity to buy the rights to riverviewrocks.net for $40 per year. Let’s do it! Walk-a-thon 2015 - This will be Oct. 3. Let’s meet June 26 for a PTO dinner to chat about what is gonna happen this year. We are going to do our own incentives this year and break apart from Brookside. Let’s consider a Great Wolf or Soaring Eagle grand prize. Also a water bottle prize maybe? Let’s discuss playground stuff as well. Officer Elections - This is important! How do we want to move forward with this? We do need to have officers. We will finalize everything at the next meeting. Next meeting is June 3rd. Let’s make it a potluck style. To instill in all Riverview students a healthy self-image, a love of learning and the desire to achieve their best in tomorrow's world.
