Treasure report - Mandy - Most of the charges to the account are from the Holiday Shop and settling up with Brookside from Walk-a-thon
Teacher Report - Mrs. Lamar - not present - she has requested some new instruments and we have been told that she is hoping to ask us. Some teacher have been spending some of their own money (even $200-$300) on items for the classroom on Teachers Pay Teachers. What if we budgeted a certain amount of funds for each teacher to spend on Teacher Pay Teachers? If we did $200 for each teacher it would be $2600 total costs for our core 13 teachers. $200 may big a little lofty for this year. $100 may be an easier to pull off this year.
Principal Report - Academics report - Ms. Kent not present
The board met with Ms. Kent - moving forward with the pavilion - The pavilion will be located down by the basketball court. We are assuming a maximum of $10,000. We are thinking it will be similar to the pavilion down by the tennis courts at the high school. This is going to be our big ticket item for this year.
Box tops - Maggie - Continuing to collect as normal.
Labels - Becky - We still have quite a few points that we will need to cash in. We have over 5000 labels due to some confusion during counting last year. We should have around $400 in gift cards. However, Mr. Miller may need items and there are a lot of items available through this option.
Shop-A-Roo - Katie - Nothing new.
Assembly ideas - Mandy sent a link to some assembly ideas to the reading committee and hasn’t heard back yet.
Spring Book Fair - Week of March 13. The Wednesday will also be reading night. There will be no family dinner or food. We will need some help working that night too if anyone is available during that week. We have around $3000 in Scholastics right now. There is a Skype author visit where authors can talk to the classroom, it runs around $1100 for around an hour of question time. Quite expensive!!! Too much maybe for now. There is also magazine subscriptions that we could order too. Ms. Sticklers kids are going to present to the staff meeting that they would like magazines carried in the library, so there may be some interest there. We could always give any leftover money back to the teachers.
