18 December Minutes

  • Call meeting to order
    • Introductions
  • Approval of November minutes
  • Treasure report - Mandy - we have over $9500 in our account.  We have a little over $14000 in saving. Walk-A-Thon funds haven’t hit the account yet.
  • Teacher report - Mrs. Fox - Teachers were wondering about the holiday shop details.  Report cards went out last week. Looking forward to next round of testing coming up in January.  Fox class went to the pool party which was shared with the K class from Brookside. It went really well!!  The door hangers for Thanksgiving was really nice too, the kids really enjoy handing those out. Christmas parties are all happening soon, too.
  • Principal Academics report - Miss Kent - Holiday concert for grades 2-4 is this next Monday.  There have been some questions about K holiday concert, but K-1 concert is spring only. Harmonica players are on the 17th.  Extra recess was supposed to happen today, so we will reschedule that. Mens basketball on the 19th for 3rd and 4th grades. 18th will be the dance party.
  • Old Business:
    • Walk-A-Thon wrap up - still going on
  • New Business:
    • More PE equipment - We approved over $650 for Mr. Miller at our last meeting.  He is asking for gym mats. He’s asking for 2 more gym mats - just like the ones we have now.  The total would be about $1800. Approved.
    • Box tops - Mandy - Will be doing another pick up soon.
    • Shop-A-Roo - Bulletin board and handouts coming up.
    • Holiday Shop - buying direct this year, we still have a TON of left over from last year.
      • Set up date? Saturday early afternoon? Sunday morning?
      • Bags for wrapping have arrived.  Katie will pick them up from Emily tomorrow.
      • We are starting at 8:30 next week Monday, hoping to have younger kids in the morning and upper elementary in the afternoon.  We should have about 10 high school kids on Monday, and Tuesday about 8 kids.Maybe will need to pick up Little Caesars or a small snack for H.S. volunteers. Can we send home a white envelope to send home with a letter?  Had some feedback last year, about having kids bring money in ziploc. We can send out letter with ziploc or envelope, with $10 maximum. PTO will sponsor some kids who aren’t able to purchase themselves. Katie will get letter and envelopes ready to go out tomorrow.
      • We will need to pick up red and green markers to write on the white bags as well.  We will also need staplers for closing the bags. Cash box - Emily has that as well.
      • Saturday at noon - loading up the trucks from Emily’s - will need help with unloading and setting up at the school as well.
      • Volunteers?
    • Bean bags - Additional seating for classrooms - Maybe we could buy a few beanbags for each classroom?
    • Miss Kent has talked to Cran-Hill about a family day.  Thinking it will take place around the end of January, weather permitting.
    • We gave some money to the office for winter gear for kids who don’t have any.  We have around $200 - and can approve more if we think it is necessary.
    • Next meeting is January 9th.
